A couple of years ago a friend of mine brought some roasted chickpeas to an event at my house. I loved them, but quickly forgot about this idea until this recipe in Better Homes and Gardens caught my eye. I’m obsessed with this snack and it is SO EASY to make. I’m attaching the link to the actual recipe, but I’ve got some tips for you below as well.

Like I said, this can’t be any easier. You rinse and drain your chickpeas.

Add the oil and all of the spices. This recipe calls for barbecue spice and celery salt. I had neither so I replaced the barbecue spice with Montreal Steak Grill Mates and increased the garlic salt to 1/2 teaspoon.
Put the chickpeas on a 15×10 inch pan and put them in the oven for 30-40 minutes. This recipe shows a cooking time of 30 minutes, but mine didn’t get crispy until 40 minutes. Don’t forget to stir them a couple of times while they’re roasting!

Ingredients
2 15 oz cans garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp Montreal Steak Grill Mates
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Spread evenly on a 15×10 inch baking pan. Roast 35-40 minutes, stirring a couple of times while roasting. Let them cool before storing them.
Sounds delicious!
